Pressure and discomfort in left temple area

I don't know if this can even be classified as a headache, but here goes...

For the past 6 or 8 weeks or so I have been feeling pressure and discomfort only in my left temple.  It doesn't really hurt.  Back in the fall or late summer of 2009 I experienced this phenomenon for a few weeks and pretty much went away on its own, but now its back and won't go away.

If I take my finger and "play" with the affected area, it may feel a little bit tender at times but it certainly isn't painful.

Really, when I wake up in the morning I feel pretty much o.k. and then as the afternoon drags on it just gets worse.

I've tried Ibuprofen, Tylenol Sinus, and Aspirin and I just can't get it to go away.  If i'm doing something actively like exercising then it is barely even noticeable but if I'm just sitting around or driving in my car, it drives me crazy.

Do I need to see my regular doctor about this immediately? I'm in college so a Dr.'s visit involves cutting class and a 100 mile drive.

Other info:
23, Male
140 lbs
No prescription meds, ever.
No Diagnosed pre-existing conditions, ever.
No family history of headaches really.
I have a little anxiety / OCD, but again, never officially diagnosed nor do I take anything for it.

Thanks in advance.  ,
flyboy

I have had a pressure feeling in both temples for 10 days.  No pain.  It is like  a tired feeling that you might get if you have to concentrate intensely for a few hours. Or if you have less sleep. I used to get this when I was in college studying long hours. Not enough sleep. I don't know why I have it now. Looking for answers.

I had a head CT scan done and a sinus CT scan and neither found anything. The pressure comes and goes, and seems to intensify with caffeine but not too sure. There is never and has never been any pain aside from the rare headache. This all started after a ski trip I had, and haven't been able to figure it out. I took a few tumbles and may have injured my head somehow, but I don't think I did because never had any pain. I started a new job shortly thereafter and that's when it started.

Pressure but not painful in my left temple area and a bit of the left side of my head. I've had this for over a month now. Early on  and still sometimes now, I had some tingling in my neck as well. There is also a little pressure or strange feeling with my left eye. The doctor ordered a CT scan for me. Now, after the results from the CT scan, I have to go for an MRI with contrast. With the CT scan, the findings that are causing question (and why they now ordered an MRI): "nonspecific 7 mm linear nodular area of enhancement within the right (yes right, even though I feel it on the left) inferior frontal lobe ." So basically, I have to wait for the MRI to better know what's going on. My suggestion is to not take these  symptoms lightly....even though it could end up being nothing major, it's always better to have it looked at to be safe.  My MRI is scheduled 4 days from now.

I wake up in the middle of night with an intense pain in my left temporal region. the pain intensifies when I roll or lay on my left side, if I turn and lay on my right side it seems to subside. quiet off and I can't even go back to sleep, I need to set up to find some relief. this condition has become more frequent in the last few months the pain is excruciating.

Thank you for your question. Although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern.

Generally, one sided throbbing (or sharp) headache (or discomfort) & orbital pain (eye pain) with numbness symptoms could be suggestive of migraine. Factors that may induce your migraine attack may be excessive pills, stress or depression, bright lights, loud noise and traveling. The mainstay of the migraine treatment is always to identify the triggering factors and to avoid them. On the other hand, few patients experience similar pain with sinusitis (sinus with infected mucus), nerve impingement and any neurological disorder.  I would suggest careful record of events that have proceeded with the attack and avoid those factors. In addition, try to rest in a dark & quiet room, meditate, have a balanced diet, avoid taking unnecessary drugs and consult a neurologist. Hope this helps.
