I was playing a card game that I had just taught my friend, and she ended up destroying me because I couldn't react to her placing down a certain card down in time. Even though I was staring right at the pile when she put the card down, it took me quite some time react. I literally stared at the card for what seemed like 2 seconds before I reacted (it did immediately register in my head that it was the card that I needed), but before I could begin to move my friend already cut me off, and because I could not react in time and do the same to her, she emptied her deck completely (I only had one card left, if I played it before she played hers I would have won). This seems like a common occurrence, no matter if it's sports, card games, video games, or even "natural" reflexes. Things register in my head as soon as they happen (like in martial arts, I can tell when I have an opening to attack) but it takes me a long time to react. For example, if I touch a hot pot, it takes me a second to react to being burned while for a normal person, they react as soon as they touch the pot. Why is this happening to me, and how do I fix it?
