Why do I wake from a deep sleep with my voice like that of a young child?

I have diagnosed epilepsy and pseudo seizures - about 3 or 4 times a year I wake up from a deep sleep with the voice of a small child who has a speech impediment.  This will last from a day to a couple of weeks.  It disappears as rapidly as it comes, waking  from a deep sleep and back to normal.  Also sometimes my gait is different from normal.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?  How do you cope with it?
