Why does cracking my neck make my muscles spasm?

Hello! I am a 23 year old female with chronic migraines, and while the main cause has never been identified, I have found that cracking my neck usually helps with the pain. However, there will occasionally be a big crack that makes my muscles spasm.

It started at just my fingers, but now when it happens my arms and back spasm, too. I'm not entirely sure if "spasm" is the correct term for what is happening; the closest reference is when I was in PT for my migraines and they used an ultrasound on my shoulders. My muscle reacts similarly with the addition of a sensation like a needle inserted into the muscle. It is a combination of a muscle waking up after falling asleep and twitching due to the ultrasound.

Is it possible this is connected to my migraines? Is it indicative of imminent paralysis?

Thanks!
