Working dx is IIH, but low opening pressure

Please help!!
My wife has been suffering with all the symptoms of IIH. Headache, diziness, spots in her vision, weakness, etc. We've been in and out of the hospital several times. Each time they dismissed her with just migraines. She has no history of migraine until now. I can say that she's had every imaging test possible, everything from mri w&w/o contrast, ct scans, the works and nothing has stood out. We finally me with a neuro that decided to pursue the IIH dx and she sent my wife for an LP. We were so sure we were going to find the smoking gun with the LP. However her opening pressure was like 8. Now we're completey at a loss...Does anyone have any other ideas what might be going on? Could it still be iih? if so how can we identify it officially? Are there any other conditions that share the same symptoms as iih? Please help, any information would be appreciated...

Hi...if she has low pressure it could mean there is restriction of the CSF flow, there could be several reasons this is going on....could be a cervical disk that is bulging, or a syrinx has developed from an injury to the neck?...or there is a congenital issue like Chiari Malformation....

Get copies of the MRI that was done, many times Chiari is considered an incidental finding when in fact it can be so much more....so always request copies of ALL testing and reports and get another opinion.

Good luck
