Hi Dr Kaul,
Thank you so much for your information, we are having a meeting this afternoon and I will mention those things you said, I know the sedation drugs that he is on they are fentanyl, Diprivan (propofol) and Midaz - we are going to find out what drugs he is on for the seizures this afternoon as they changed them on Tuesday, I know he had an ecg yesterday and having a ct scan now, these are his second scans that he is having as the others did not give an accurate reading because of the seizures, he hasn't had a seizure in over 2 days now so that's what there doing the scan again for just to see if the drugs are masking them, I know they have not put the sedation up anymore over the last 2 days so hopefully the new seizure drugs have stopped them , but if not they have said that's all they can do as he is on all the medication that there is apparently? Today they just totally stopped the propofol from 45 to nothig and about 3 mins later his face started twitching and then they started it back up again, he only had cpr for six minutes after his attack and that was instantly and the paramedics took over after the 6 mins, he was brought to the hospital and was cooled for 24 hours that's why there so baffled as to why he is fitting?? I just hope there exploring every angle.

Hi there!

Well, without knowing the relevant clinical details or a detailed clinical evaluation it would be difficult to comment specifically on the situation. Seizures could occur as a part of a number of clinical scenarios and without knowing the primary cause it would be difficult to suggest a management plan. Strikes secondary to arrhythmias following the heart attack is an important possibility to be considered. Other possibilities that would need to be ruled out include electrolyte imbalance, metabolic issues etc. I would suggest considering a detailed evaluation by a neurologist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
