brain tumor

I sent a questioner hours ago but I don't know if it was received. I was diagnosed with a brain tumor about a month ago. I had a MRI and CT scan to confirm the location and the type of tumor that I have. My neurologist said this was the second time he has seen this type of tumor and wants me to go to see a neurosurgeon. The problem is if he doesn't know what to say or do about my tumor. What makes him so sure a neurosurgeon will. I have a lipoma of the Splenium of the corpus callosum. I don't know how to handle this or how to find the right doctor. I do have my insurance co. Looking into this for me and I have looked up docs in my insurance plan. I just don't know if I am going to the right doctor. Do I call and ask if the doctor knows about this type of tumor. Could you  help me ? I live in Florida it would be nice if I could find someone near. If you could  even give me some kind of information on what I should expect. At this time I have headaches everyday, pressure on my face and behind my eyes,my left ear hurts, very sleepy all the time. My doctor told me having headaches doesn't mean I have a tumor that everybody says that! If he doesn't know anything then why would he say that ! Anyway can someone help? Please
Thank you for your time,
Evelyn Grose

Sorry to hear about your tumor. I know that it is never news you really want to hear. Do not worry about your neurologist and his lack of knowledge with that type of tumor, just find another neurologist that you feel more comfortable with. I always look for the top rated doctors when it comes to my family's care. Here is a website that can give you a starting point for looking. http://www.ratemds.com/

When you find one that you think you will be comfortable with, Yes, ask him or her what ever you want. If you do not like the answer's or shall I say, do not feel comfortable with the answers to your questions, keep looking.
