cafe ole birthmarks

My 2 year old has one, larger cafe ole birthmark on her upper back. Does this mean she will be pre-genetically disposed for other diseases/issues associated with this such as neurofibromotosis?  From what I have read, the concern becomes when there are multiple ones. She has had some virus in her eyelids that comes and goes and causes her to have swollen eyelids on and off since she is 10 months old. All else with her is on track and more than perfect but we are trying to correct her never ending "eye" issues, or what the under lying cause maybe. We will have her go to neurologist next.  We have had Brain MRI/Cat Scan, 2 allergists ( no allergies that show still at age of 24 months), 2 eye exams under anesthesia, and 3 pediatric opthomoligists later who all tell her she if fine except for bacterial and/or virus in her eye lids that come and go. Is any of this, eye issues, associated with this mole?

i am 17 years old and i am latino with tanned skin ranged in probably not to tanned or just in the middle.  I have this spot that is on top of my left wrist that is about 6mm large and is like a brownish type of color.  i dont remember since when ive had it but prob like half a year or so.  the color seems to just be brown, but my concern makes me not really be able to tell.  i want to know if cafe ole spots or these type of birthmarks could come much years after like at 16 like it did to me? and if me being 17 and still gowing through facial hair growth (barely have any) could have anything to do with that i might still just be going through puberty

Thank you so very much for the quick response and I will see neurologist to be safe. She only has one and I should, as you wisely point out, make sure that this is really such a spot.

Warm Regards and many, many thanks.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Cafe au lait spots should be diagnosed properly and you have to confirm their presence. Café au lait spots or cafe-au-lait spots (CAL) are pigmented birthmarks. The name café au lait is French for "coffee with milk" and refers to their light-brown color. They are also called "giraffe spots."

While café au lait spots are usually not associated with any medical problems, having many (three or more) such spots is linked with neurofibromatosis and the rare McCune-Albright syndrome.

Also, having six or more café au lait spots greater than 5 mm in diameter before puberty, or greater than 15 mm in diameter after puberty, is a cardinal diagnostic feature of neurofibromatosis type I.

Go to a good neurologist and follow up, take care!
