cerebellar vermian hypoplasia

One of my students was diagnosed with cerebellar vermian hypoplasia.  I'm not sure that I understand what this mean or its implications for my student.  I think I know that it has something to do with his balance and I can see that.  What implications might it have for speech/language pathologists (me)?

This discussion is related to mri/vermian atrophy.
