Not really sure which topic would apply to this.
I recently went to the E.R. with what I thought to be kidney pain (I have had problems with my kidneys over the years, but none recently). Turned out I have biliruben in my urine. (I had noticed bumps for a few months prior to this, on the back of my tongue.) The doctor was more interested in the petechal hemmorhage (sp?) on my shins and feet. I go for a follow up this Friday. A few weeks ago I started a new job, fund raising via telephone. All went well for 2 days. On the third day, as the night progressed my voice became hoarse, and sort of burned my throat without actually having a sore throat. By the next day, I was doing okay. By the third week of this, my tongue cramped real bad one night, seemingly, the entire night, The next morning it felt as if I had eaten something extrememly hot, or salty, and my tongue was tingy feeling. This sensation continued for 3 days, and I noticed my tongue was also swelling and turning very red. The bumps on my tongue are now midway toward the front of my tongue, they are red, and much larger (sort of flat looking) than taste buds. While I brushed my teeth and gently brushed my tongue I noticed lesions on my tongue when I spit, even with clear water, it has a hint of bright red (blood) in it. The lesions on my tongue, by this third day, are almost 1/2 deep as my tongue is thick. I thought perhaps I wasn't drinking enough water, and dehydration was the cause, but this does not not really appear to be the problem. I have a multitude of allergies, but if this is a result is it a new one.
What in the heck is going on? Can you help shed some light on this? I realize that being online is not a substitute for going to the doctor, as I said I will be there this Friday.
