hand/arm

I started having hand pain in Oct. I just woke up and my hands felt like I had been pulling on a tight rope.  They just ached.  I went to the doctor and they did blood work for arthritis.  It was negative.  It then moved up my left arm and into my shoulder.  It is a constant ached in left arm and both hands.  I have been to an orthopedic doctor, two hand specialists, neurosurgeon and I have had blood test, a ct scan of my chest (for possible thorasic outlet syndrom - this was negative), carpal tunnel test - it was fine, nerve test on my left arm - it was also fine.  I am going to a pain management doctor now and he is trying to determine what this could be.  I am scheduled for an EMG in a few months.  I had an episode about 5 years ago that was not really diagnosed - they didn't know if I had Bells Palsy or possible mild stroke.  My right side of my face was slack and numb but my left arm went numb.  the cause was never really determined.  My pain management doctor feels I had a mild stroke and this could be coming from that.  He is checking Vascular options right now.  I was just wondering if anyone might have any ideals as to what this could be.  I am unable to sleep at night because of the ache and the numbness.  It keeps me up all night.  Nothing makes it better and nothing really makes it worse. It feels like having a tooth ache in my bones.  It is the palm of my hands that really hurt.  they ache a lot and then I get shooting pain in them.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This is also happening to me and I think that it's caused by me being on the computer alot.  Right now, my job requires that I am on a computer and I have not seen medical treatment for this.

I thought of stretching before, however when I lift my arm up I receive pain in my arms and shoulders.  Some days, I feel that my hands are swollen.  Could this be due to lack of vitamins?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be great.

I had that , it can be attributed to a few things. First of all. .USING THE COMPUTER TOO MUCH AND NOT USING ERGONOMIC SUPPORTS FOR HAND and  wrist. You can look that up and try to correct.. The other thing is a pinched nerve in your upper neck. it radiates down the arm in a burning way and makes your hands feel swollen or stiff. I suggest a few things. first go to a chiropractor ,get some xrays and an evaluation, and some adjustments, you may feel almost immediate relieft. DO EXERCISE OR STRETCH.. arms way over head. taunt out to the side. Use small cans like for soup or water bottles and stretch your hand around that. sounds like you could use physical therapy and some advise on relieving pain at the work station computer.
