headache and numbness

I have constant headaches, right leg numbness, and left arm numbness, neck rigidity, chills and goose bumps often, lethargy, mild vision problems, and some rashes but no fever.  This all started a year ago when I was lifting weights (incline press) and had a sharp pain that ran from my neck to my head above my nose.  It put me to the floor and I went to the emergency room that day.  CAT scans, MRI's (brain, thoracic, and cervical), lumbar puncture showed nothing.    My neurolgist in Houston said it was a CSF leak and I had 2 blood patches which did nothing.  I went to another neurolgist who gave me elavil (20mgs) with some relief.  He also prescripbe  1/2 clonazapem a day.  I am doing ok but I still have headaches and  numbness.  Could this be a mild brain injury?  MS? or what?

Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the reply.  I have stopped lifting weights completely and try to eat well.  The chills, goose bumps are very odd symptom which happens several times a day and last for 5-10 minutes.  Is there some neurological disorder which causes these symptoms?

Thanks for your help.

Hi there.

It is really very hard to pinpoint the exact cause for your symptoms considering that the specialists seem to be also unable to find the exact cause.  These headaches may be due to as simple as stress related, to serious conditions such as demyelinating conditions (MS), though this should have shown on the scans done (MRI).  Traumatic brain injuries can have chronic symptoms such as pain and numbness.  Also, be sure that you do not over train with your work outs, and eat well.

Regards and God bless.
