hemicrania continua???

Hi,
i have had a nonstop headache since december 2006. And have tried every migraine medicine known to man kind! In may 2007 i had sinus surgery in high hopes that it would get rid of my headaches. But no such luck. Since then i have had ct scans, a mri with contrast, blood workup, urine tests, and a spinal tap. All of the above were negative. I also have many strange symptoms: popping joints, pain in joints, clicking in back of head, loud uncontrollable screaming sound(since having surgery). The headache has not stopped at all in the past year. I am also expieriencing hair loss. im on lots of vitamins and not overweight. my neurologist thinks that its a migraine but i have my doubts. I read about hemicrania continua and it sounds just like my symptoms but i wanted some other opinions. If you know anyone with something even remotely similar please let me know! (also considering food allergy testing) ANY AND ALL SUGGESTIONS WELCOME!thank you in advance

don't give up.  i hope the indocin helps.  you may also want to look into shingles.  today my doctor started me on valtrex for shingles because she said you can have shingles without a rash--who knew?  Not sure it will help, but I'll try anything at this point.  Also, tmj can cause a lot of head pain.  Have you check that?

I was diagnosed with Hemicrania Continua at first and my doctor put me on a very high dose of Indocin, which is a non steriod anti-inflamatory drug.  From all the research I read, Hemicrania is supposed to stop within 24 hours of finding the right does of Indocin.  The good news is that Indocin is cheap.  It is a $4 perscription at Wal-Mart.  Ask your doctor.  If that is what it is, your symptoms should remit once you get the right dose.  Just be careful b/ Indocin can be hard on your stomach.  Eat when you take it.  It can also cause dizziness and nausea as a side effect.

Unfortunately, it turns out that is not what I have, but I did learn a lot about it.  Hope that helps.
