light-headed all day

26 year old healthy male. Lately for the passed week I've been feeling very light-headed throughout the whole day. My OCD compulsion to want to shake my head does not help either. I used to do it as a kid, like 3-4 times a day when I was stressed and never done it since, not until recently. But my head feels cloudy, foggy, spacey and when I move my head around it gets worst and sometimes feel a bit nauseated but not close to vomiting. Does not interfere with sleep and I feel fine in the morning. Also drinking alcoholic gets rid of the feeling.

Triggers
- meetings and lunches where people are sitting closely in front of me and I'm looking at them
- bad habit of wanting to make a head shaking movement 5-7 times a day...
- eye strains badly when switching from monitor to TV recently, never happened before
- new huge LCD monitor at work

Past
- almost fainted as a kid when playing (age 7, i think) once, and was prescribed glasses but I never wore them
- had epilepsy sleeping seizure twice from age 19-22 when I had 2 incidents of serious loss of sleep from jetleg. I read recently that seizures are symptom of brain tumor.

Went to urgent care and gave me blood work and EGK heart test, and Dr. said all test were excellent and said it was from anxiety.  Refused MRI and said contact neurologist if problems persist. It's been 2 days and not getting better. Should I see eye dr or neurologist?

Hi There,

It will help to know if you wear glasses or not. This could be an eye issue like poor eyesight causing these symptoms.
Anxiety also cannot be ruled out. Since you have eye issues in the past I would suggest you to consult an ophthalmologist. Eye problems like astigmatism and poor eyesight can cause light headedness.

Hi!

I have had similar problems. Been to the ER and was released due to anxiety and was referred to a neurologist.

Here's my thread:
