Hey I have the exact same problem after having lumbar puncture to diagnose viral meningitis which was never a set in stone diagnosis. I have electric shocks at site of lumbar puncture and burning sensations in lower back and tightness feeling. I also have pain in my hip/bum area and leg I can't even lay flat on my back at all. It so painful I just freeze up and need someone to help me move. It's so painful! I'm under investigation to see a neurologist to figure out what had happened at an Mri and seen two consultants who work in neurosurgery but the second believes it's peripheral nerve damage as MRI not showing anything and neurologist will be able to help that is why I being referred to them. Im on gabapentin and high dose of co-codamol makes me feel woozy but definitely helps a bit but doesn't take the pain away just eases it. I will keep you updated on my findings and progress if that helps?

Okay before I dive into this post, are you saying the LP test told you had bacterial meningitis or it caused it?
