: I just read your letters, and it struck me that you may be the only person I've found on the net with a story like mine.  (see below, my post labeled "Acquired Rotary Nystagmus"  Lyme has been ruled out for me, and I also have a "clear" MRI.  Nystagmus is not my only symptom, however.  Like you, I have various points of tingling and related sensations in my arms and legs.  Short term memory is very, very bad.  I write everything down.  Dizziness is my constant companion, and it has been determined that this is brainstem - not inner ear.
For loads of info on nystagmus, you may want to check out the following:
This is the American Nystagmus Network.  You'll find info about the condition, contacts with others who suffer from it, and links to other sources of info.
Good luck to you.  I am one of those drifting through the medical community hoping someone will someday stumble onto a full diagnosis.  At this point, no one knows the source of my nystagmus or other neuro problems.  Time may show more - this has only been going on for less than a year, and I'm told it can take years of comparative exams to nail everything down.  Till then, I just live with what I have, laugh often, and believe that God will protect me from walking into too many walls! :)
