Tethered cord

I have had 2 spinal releases the last one in 2005. During the last procedure one of the nerves to my right foot was cut the back of my leg and buttocks were somewhat numb I have noticed that my right leg and foot seem to be getting number and spreading to the front of my leg. I won't be seeing my neurosurgeon till late September and my question is should I be worried that the numbness will continue to spread or that my mobility will be lost? And will the pain which is under control at this time will intensify?

Thanks

My daughter had surgery to detether her spinal cord 5 years ago. She has had  chronic back pain for the past 3 yrs. I know they were not able to release all the nerves that were tethered at the time of the first surgery and that she would need another surgery later on. She is a very active 13 yr old girl. She has been a cheerleader for the past few years and does a lot of tumbling. However her back pain has been getting worse and worse. She is not having any new bladder issues or new leg weakness or tingling. Has anyone else had chronic back pain after surgery?

HI....If this is a new sensation I would call the NS and not wait and let them make the call to have u wait till Sept, or have u come in sooner.

Since the nevre was cut...it can not be repaired.....and only ur NS can determine to what extent u should have these symptoms.

U may want to join the chiari forum as there r members like myself with TC.....
