Thanks for posting this nasir08.   I have been trying to figure out if this is what I may have.  Unfortuniate, my gp is taking this serious.  I has storng reason to believe that I caught herpes in Feb 2007.  Since that time, I have been experiencing various neurological symptoms.  I get tingling and pins and needles feeling throughout my body.  This morning I final saw a eye doctor regrading floater and severe dry I have been experiencing since feb 2007.  If I sit for an extended period of time, my anus gets tender and soreness. I just need someone with similar experience to provide an knowledge that may know about my situation.

Thanks

Hi, post herpetic neuralgia is often treated with lidocaine patches, drugs like amitryptiline, gabapentin, steroids etc but in some of the cases pain last for quite a long time.

"A randomized controlled trial found that amitryptyline 25 mg per night for 90 days starting with two days of onset of rash can reduce the inicidence of postherpetic neuralgia from 35% to 16%". Taken from website http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postherpetic_neuralgia

Please consult the doctor and start medication.
