pulsating sensation in head.

i am 22 yr old male... i am just getting over a viral infection, had twitching in calves and other parts of body, twitches are almost completely gone, but i still have this weird buzzing feeling in my left leg, and i also have this pulsation feeling in my head, and other parts of my body, when i lay down i can actually see my body move a little from the strong pulse, feels like my body is gently rocking (is this something to worry about)  the doctor said its stress/anxiety. because i was so worried about having MS after feeling all the twitches and other symptoms i had. i also have been really tired lately..

my question is can axiety cause such a strong pulse like that?

i asked if it could be a blockage in my arteries in my head or neck and he said im to young to have that..

also i feel a little cloudy headed, but i dont know if this could be from my ears being plugged for a couple weeks.

thanks in advanced!

I have High Blood ressure and was prescribed Norvasc and then Lotrel. My BP is now lower and I have less Pulsations but I feel it occassionally and I also have a Heavy Head feeling when I get uset or excited. I feel a Blood Rush and Heaviness that I freak out. Hi,

I am also experiencing this pulsating sensation in my head since a very long time. On reading through the internet, i found that it can be something related to De Musset's syndrome or aortic aneurysm. however, i am not otherwise suffering from any heart problems. I also suffer from hypothyroidism. All this while i thought that the pulsations in my head are due to hypothyroidism. But my doctor recently told me that there is no relation between the two. Overall, i feel very weak and fatigued. Can pulsations be due to my weakness? Please let me know if you can.

Thanks,

I have the same thing going on. My head has this throbbing sensation and both ears hear it. It is so scary. I'm seeing a cardiologist on Monday and hopefully it's not a blocked artery or anurism.

I too am having the same problems. I'm 21 and a female. I've had this pounding/pulsing headache that goes across my head from ear to ear, and last night i noticed my right thigh twitching everyway I laid. And as for that weird buzzing feeling I've been getting in my hips for weeks now, to describe it it feels like I have my cell phone in my pocket and its vibrating, but yet I don't even have it on me! But this headache is driving me nuts!!! I can't do anything! Eugh!

I have the SAME symptoms as you...and unfortuantely a lot more.  I am a 22 year old female and I've had every test under the sun considering I've been sick for 2 years now with symptoms only getting worse.  I have been on anti-biotics for 10 months now with little improvement because doctors believe that I have lyme disease although i am sometimes skeptical.  The pulsing sensation in my body especially my head is the worst.  I also have really weird visual disturbances and the muscle twitching, etc.  Please get back to me.

Did you resolve this problem? I am currently experiencing the same, though I do have MS. Any guidance appreciated!

thanks

I guess i kind of felt it everywhere, kind of like having the chills but without being cold.. it went away, but i still feel it in my leg a little... the pulsing sensation seemed to calm down a lot also, i wonder if it has anything to do with the way i was eating when i had my viral infection, many times i would only eat once per day, i did lose weight from this too.. i heard in another forum that Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause similar symptoms or low magnesium?

Thanks again, i really appreciate it..

Hi.

Usually, a vibrating or buzzing feeling in an extremity may be suggestive of a nerve-related disorder. Where do you feel it in the upper body? Conditions which could possible be related to these symptoms include nerve impingement or compression secondary to disc herniation or degenerative disc disease, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, diabetes, thyroid disorder, etc.

This new symptom may or may not be related to the symptoms you have been experiencing before. It would be difficult to determine at this moment if they are.

Hope this answers your query.

Thank you very much for you reply i really appreciate it..

I feel better than i did a week ago.. every time i would feel the pulse in my head it would come with a weird feeling, i cant describe it.. it was really strong compared to what it is now.. hopefully it will go away soon.

Do you have any idea what could be causing that buzzy/vibrating feeling in my legs mostly my left leg, but i noticed last night it was in my upper body also.. could it be related to the pulse im feeling?

Thanks!

Hi.

How are you feeling right now? I do hope you're feeling better.

To answer your question directly - yes. Anxiety can indeed cause the increased pulsations you are experiencing. However, they may also be due to you still getting over the viral infection and you are still weak and easily fatigued that simple movements cause your heart to race faster and thus lead to an increased pulsation in your head.

I would not worry about multiple sclerosis (MS) at this point because symptoms associated with MS are insidiously progressive and do not resolve as simply as what had happened to you. Your fatigue could still be because of the viral infection you are just getting over.

Your doctor may also be right about the aneurysm. It would be unlikely that you have one because of your age, and also because unruptured brain aneurysms very rarely cause symptoms.

You are possibly correct about your feeling light-headed being associated with your ears being plugged during the viral infection. This lightheadedness can also be due to decreased blood flow, fatigue, or fever, which are all also related to the viral infection.

If your symptoms persist or worsen, you could go back to your doctor for a reassessment.

Hope this helps.
