rsd and lupus

I was diagnosed with RSD in left leg, my symptoms are spreading to my entire left side. My nephew was just diagnosed with Lupus, I have noticed that alot of the symptoms in both are the same. Is it possible that i may have lupus and or mis -diagnosed with RSD.

Hi,
Some F.Y.I. for you......

I have Systemic Lupus. I've dealt with it for many years. So, I know
how it affects my own body and the specific symptoms/discomfort it
causes.
I was in a car accident in 2004. I was not at fault. Hurt my low back/sacrum/left hip.
I developed beginning RSD symptoms within 4 months of this
auto collision. I know the difference between my Lupus pains and
this RSD/CRPS leg/sciatic area pain. The RSD symptoms started
AFTER this accident.
What is scary is that I told every doctor I saw (I still see doctors, I
have never discontinued medical care for this RSD/CRPS NON LUPUS
pain), I told them all about my symptoms and over months, more RSD/
CRPS pain and obvious symptoms developed. No doctor picked up on these
symptoms as being RSD/CRPS until about 2 1/2 years into pain
management treatment. (One of my doctors told me she suspected it,
but withheld that from me and did not put her "suspicion" into her
medical notes.) Many doctors did not document my pain well. That
can be detrimental.
Finally, I am getting the sympathetic nerve/ RSD/CRPS treatment
I've needed for this certain area.
However, my own auto insurance is using my previous Lupus
diagnosis against me. Even though this RSD pain was caused by
this accident.
Please listen to YOUR body. Find out if you have Lupus or RSD.
Make the doctors listen to you and take your pain seriously.
If you find a doctor that doesn't "believe" you or is not helping you,
find another one that will. Make sure these doctors take excellent,
accurate notes. Be SPECIFIC in your descriptions to these doctors.
*If you feel NERVE pain, know that that is not the same as MUSCLE
pain. Describe your pain well, so that any doctor who sees you
can discern between possible Lupus and RSD/CRPS. They are
two different conditions.
RSD/CRPS, as you know, hurts all the
time and ruins your life. I hope you don't have Lupus, but if you do,
or any other auto immune/musculoskeletal disease....be prepared
for discrimination from your health and/or life, auto, home insurances.
Just some information that is very important for you to know.
I wish you the best

Hello.

For RSD to occur, you should have had a surgery or an injury. It is a response to injury. The symptoms of Lupus are much more extensive than those of RSD.

You can come to a conclusion after tests for Lupus.
