small vessel disease

My Dr. said my MRI/MRA showed signs of not only a storm of brain attacks but also of small vessel disease.  What is that?  How is it treated and what is that going to do to my life?  I am only 48 years old.

My question too.  I was diagnosed when I was 47 yrs. old.  I'm now 52.  At first they thought I had Multiple Sclerosis and have been receiving treatment.  A recent MRI was done and I am now told small vessel disease “leukoaraiosis".  I'm wondering what is going to happen.  Do you have symptoms?
