sore neck and headaches
I have had a sore neck for almost week (since 9/9) with headaches, I have had headaches before, but the stiff neck is new. no other health problems. is this something serious? or should i wait it out, i do not have any insurance. I am 27, and a full time nursing student, so I am use to long hours at the computer and reading books. I was worried about menigitis but without a fever I feel that I would be wasting money to see a Doctor, but I dont want it to get worse it that is what it is.

Yes I am taking Ibuprophen and applying ice. Last night I woke up at 3am and could not sleep because any position I laid made my neck hurt even worse and now my right arm is very sore. I am starting to think it is a pinched nerve. Do you know any measures I can take to help? thanks so much.
Have you taken anything OTC for this? i.e. Motrin, Tylenol?
Have you tried ice or heat on it?
Are you taking breaks hourly away from the computer and reading?
Try some conservative measures FIRST.......then consult a physician.
I doubt this is any Meningitis.
BTW: I am a RN and good luck with school......you will need it.

Finding a pillow that works for you is also very important. For me it is The Original Contour Pillow. I have only been able to find this on line. It was not very expensive last I ordered one. Around $20.
