sudden loss of coordination on left side

Hi,

A little over a year ago my little sister who was 15 at the time suddenly lost coordination on the left side of her body.  Her foot drags a little when she walks and she cannot touch her nose or direct her left hand with out extreme consentration.  Therapy did no good because doctors have ruled out the muscles as the problem. She has been to the doctor countless times for MRI's and various types of scans.  They have ruled out any kind of brain trauma, but they will only do scans on her neck and head.  I don't believe that anyone has suggested any possible problem with the nerves.
Since she first noticed the problem, my sister has noticed slight improvement with her arm, but no progress with her leg.  She recently discovered that she can no longer rollerblade, something that bothers her a lot.  No one has been able to tell us what is wrong with her and I have not been able to find any similar cases.  I would really appreciate any possible suggestions.

Thank you,

E. M.

Even teenagers can get MS or other neurological problems that usually are only found in adults.  My suggestion is to continue to look for a doctor who can accurately diagnose what's wrong and what can be done to fix it.  For unusual cases a large teaching hospital is a good place to start because their doctors are usually experts in their fields.

i have a similar problem. i'm 19 and i guess it was a month or so ago i noticed that i frequently lose coordination in the left side of my body. sometimes it feels like i'm walking with one of those boots on my leg, the ones you get when you break a leg or something. and my arm just feels off and it makes it difficult to type. its not constant but happens frequently throughout the day.
