tartive dyskinesia

my 52 year old niece took geodon for 11 months and the doctor even trippled the dosage while never seeing her- only talking to the doctor through her assistant- she has been left with severe headpronation(backward?) and now her feet move constantly too- she has had to get a catheter, which is causing severe pain and we cannot seem to get her bladder specialist to give any help with that- where and to whom can we go to someone that has more knowledge- we have been to the university of kansas  medical center and the Mayo Clinic- so where else can we go- ??

You can find some answers to your questions on the United States Government NIH database "Pubmed". Type in the drug name and "side effects". From what I can see those side effects have been observed in other patients. Make sure you go to the FDA site and fill out an adverse drug effect report.

I have advanced tardive dystonia. The two I went to in the past  that were the most helpful were the movement disorders clinics at Mount Sinai Hospital and Columbia University Hospital which are in the New York area. However there are many movement disorder clinics around the country that have trained movement disorders specialists who should be familiar with treating tardive dyskinesia. Depending where you can travel you  can look up hospitals to see if they have a movement disorders clinic and then find out their level of specialty and expertise. Also sometimes you can find agencies that can provide referrals. The two I mentioned have a good reputation but there are many others as well.
