are there any other side effects of either brain tumors or liver and kidney failure?
Hi there. These involuntary movements could be myoclonus which may develop in response to infection, stroke, brain tumors, head or spinal cord injury, liver or kidney failure, multiple sclerosis, lupus etc. side effects of certain drugs like tramadol and antibiotics like quinolones and anticholinergics. It can occur in epiliepsy. Treatment would include discontinuation of drugs suspected to be the cause; metabolic derangements need to be resolved. Pharmacological treatment when required would indicate anticonvulsants, like piracetam, levetiracetam, sodium valproate etc. 5-hydroxytryptophan can cause some improvement. Consult your neurologist. Hope this helps. Take care.
Hi
It does sound like you have myoclonus, you should ask to see a neurologist. Myoclonus can be caused by numerous illnesses but it can also occur for no specific reason, so try not to stress yourself out as that actually makes myoclonus worse.
I've got 2 forms of myoclonus so if you have confirmation that this is what you have, please contact me if you want to know more or just need some support.
All the best
