total knee replacement nerve damage

i had total knee replacement three months ago, since then i have had severe pain very bad burning sensation it feels like someone has poured acid on my knee the scar area gets very sore and it feels hot to the touch with redness,i cant even stand for my clothes to touch it,it comes and goes every day, bending my leg backwards is extremely painful if i go to far up,in the beginning they did not realize a nerve was affected but for awhile they gave me percoset 10 or 20 ,it got to where i could control it with 10 and one hydrocone 5,but in a few weeks they cut me down to hydrocone 7.5,now it takes on and one half of them and one hydrocone 5,how long will this pain last and is it a permanent condition it hurts more in the knee area but goes far down and up the knee a little ways, the hnee is very stiff most of the time and constantly painful.please explain, what comes next.thank you,m sue ragan oh yes they have put me on meloxicam and lyrica 150 mg. twice a day and it has helped a lot with the burning ,not the pain.

I had both knees replaced 1 yr aprt. It took about 1 year to get the feeling back. probably 95-99%. It is a weird sensation but it will get better. I use vitamin e cream and a cocoa butter stick on my scar. You can hardlry see them now. Good Luck I hope this helped.

I had bilat total knees 3 wk ago.  My skin is so sensitive i can't stand for anything to touch it.  I cant stand for anything to cover it, the skin over my knees start heating up, like under a heat light. I asked the PT what to do, he said the nerves were hyperacting out, to take very soft cloth (I bought a car chemi??) and rub over the scar and skin or it would get worse and stay that way. don't know what to do about the heating up when covered.
