My 2 year old daughter seized for about 3-4 minutes. We hurriedly went to the hospital. She stiffened suddenly, her eyes rolled 90 degrees left to up. Her hands were closed and her mouth darkened with clear or white foam coming out from her mouth. While on board, I tilt her head and body to the side and fan her face (car's windows opened). After 3-4 minutes (while on the car to the hospital), she closed her eyes and moan. And when we arrived at the hospital, she's sound asleep and woke up asking me for some water (I did not give her the water because the doctor told me not to give her anything). She looked tired. A few minutes passed while were at the ER, she suddenly shivers. With 99.14 deg F. This was her second time having a seizure. She's always having this kind of seizure after her fever went away. She seizes without a fever. After that, we went to her pediatrician and she referred me to a pediatric neurologist. We're having an appointment at Friday, 8 am. I hope that everything's fine and she just seized because of fever.

And by the way, how is your child now?

Hi,

My cousin has similar problem but much seviere than this. It started few years ago when she was 14. She fell down, white foam came out of her mouth, and her eyes came out as well. After taking some medicine she became ok. But the frequency of such attacks have increased like anything. Today she gets such attack atleast every hour. She has been examined several times. Doctors have done all EEG and MRI etc reports but they can't find any reason why such thing happens. I would be really thankful if you could give some advice on how we should proceed to improve here situation.

Thanks,

Paresh

Hi,

How are you?
The child is most likely to be suffering from seizures triggered by high temperature or head injury. An EEG and MRI will be very helpful in this case.
An EEG will help in detecting any abnormal activity in the brain due to seizure and will also help in finding out the foci of abnormal electrical activity.
An MRI will help in ruling out other causes of his symptoms like head injury or brain tumor. Hope this helps!
