vibration

Have intermittent vibrations that started in my right groin area around Dec 09. Feels just like a cell phone vibrating in your pocket. Since then, this sensation has spread to different parts of my body, innner thigh, left breast (above and below),  cheeks, upper lip (accompanied by a numb feeling), hips  etc. It is never painful, just distracting. Is this symtoms of some condition? I have notice many women with variations of this vibrating phone phenomenon but can't not find any medical interpretation.

Hi Turtle1916.

Is the "vibration" visible through the skin?  If so, you need to go to a doctor as it may be fasciculation.  This is a symptom that can have many causes; many of them are benign, but it can also be an indicator of motor neuron disease.

If the vibration is not visible it's probably nothing - we all get little random muscle twitches now and again (I tend to get them when I'm stressed). But if it's worrying you, it's worth seeing your doctor to put your mind at ease.

Let us know how you get on! :)
