Completely different but directly in line as to how "scientists" can tell the truth and get fired....
The controversial wolf introduction in the west. The pro wolf agenda hired numerous scientists. A few of them, and their sound science, came out to tell the truth about the introduction and the species that was introduced and the pro wolf agenda dropped them like a hot rock.
All the prowolf agenda wanted to hear from them was, "will THIS
wolf survive in this eco system" and "are wolves beneficial to THEIR regular eco systems?"
The answers given were, "yes they will survive and even thrive in this new eco system, and yes they are beneficial to THIER eco system" but as soon as these scientists said that "This wolf doesn't belong in this eco system", they got fired and were deemed as quacks.
"My question is, how on earth did we move from that to "killing babies and seniors?" "
It's brought to you by the same people who pump out the anti-climate change propaganda. Basically, those who look at humans as 'consumption units' and don't care what type of world our grandchldren inherit as long as they can make a buck today. The current economic model doesn't work unless you have a growing consumer base.
I can tell you this. My great aunt was a Roman Catholic Nun. Beyond a doubt as conservative as a human being can get. She isn't with us any longer, but she used to tell me so many stories. She traveled extensively, on missionary type work, throughout so many parts of the world. And do you know what she taught so many women? How to time their cycles, and how to use birth control. I remember talking to her about it not long after my own confirmation ceramony. It was confusing for me as the Church is against birth control and population control in general. She told me that seeing little babies starve to death because there was not enough food taught her that sometimes you have to make choices. She felt that God would prefer her preventing that then be a party to allowing that.
I too have traveled extensively and seen poverty and famine beyond anything you can possibly imagine. It rankles me when anyone talks about this as a US issue. It isn't. It's a much much bigger picture then that. Obama and his health care plan have nothing to do with this issue.
And on that note, you have folks in the US starving to death and dying from treatable and preventable disease. However, I suppose for some that is better as long as it doesn't become real to them, and is simply a political talking point. That is a shame.
Oops, that should have read 'so' not 'do'.
Why do negative ?
I am in favor of education and birth control which is easily accessible for all, everywhere.
That is the first step towards controlling the ever expanding population.
Well, there is really no question that overpopulation is an issue on our planet. I mean, it doesn't take a brain surgeon to recognize that. Many countries can not produce enough food and certainly clean water is a huge huge issue. Many countries have way larger populations then they can ever possibly come close to taking care of (and I don't mean gov't care, so don't get excited).
My question is, how on earth did we move from that to "killing babies and seniors?" And please keep in mind, this is not an Obama issue nor is it an American issue. This is a worldwide issue and last time I checked, there were a whole lot of other countries out there extending far beyond the US borders.
No one is talking about "killing" anyone. But as SM said, education is the key here. Access to birth control is critical. Of course, we can just say forget it all and let the children just starve to death. Cause without education and birth control, that is where we are moving to. (and it already happens in many parts of the world).
Some of these countries need to have education presented to them and yes, birth control available. It's sad what happens to a lot of these children in these parts of the world.
OH I am not saying that overpopulation is not happening but what can you do about it...nothing. Unless you want to limit how many children someone has. Are you infavor of that?
There are definately countries in the world where overpopulation is a real problem and I'm sure everyone agrees to that.
The problem with there not being enough clean water for people to drink is cause by both pollution and over population.
This isn't about killing babies, it's about common sense.
Too many people fighting over resources.
Believe what you like, my experience both with traveling and living life show me the vast increased population of the globe.
However, just like religion, people believe what they want to believe.
Enough said.
Yup that's what they want ..American babies are not being born, its the lowest birth rate ..and Obamacare will be finishing seniors off early like the UK does..so I guess those who want it will have depopulation
Yeah over population, lets kill more babies, lets institute one child policy, lets just kill everyone.
I dont believe we are over populated and that the msm is responsible for us assuming we are
Lets see, no environment= no people.
Sounds like our priories need to be about not just saving the planet we live on but finding a way to share it peacefully.
Personally, we could benefit from truly focus on what I consider the one biggest problem facing us all~ overpopulation.
....or maybe Rush Limbaugh look like Mother Jones :-) You get what I'm saying.
I googled it and read it. Just my opinion that Spady makes Mother Jones look like Rush Limbaugh.
It was such a long article to put it all up...it was from TownHall.com
By the way Salazar is on his way out -- case not under review. Also, drilling on public lands is at a record high, so Spady's assertion that he was a 'green' Secretary of Interior is more "science fiction".
Speaking of "a convenient world, unconstrained by facts" Spady done Goebbels proud.
I know there are no links required on this forum, but for anyone interested in 'the rest of the story'

"...Dr. Paul Houser, a hydrologist, has accused the DOI of "scientific and scholarly misconduct and reprisal," a complaint currently under investigation within the agency.
The Bureau of Reclamation, a division of DOI, hired Houser in April 2011 to serve as a scientific integrity officer and science advisor. This position is a relatively new one at DOI, put in place in February 2011 in response to President Obama's 2009 executive order requiring an administration-wide policy that would guarantee that all agency decisions are based on "the soundest science."
Nice to see you siding with the President on this one.
