VERO BEACH, Fla. —A Treasure Coast teen who lost his wallet said he learned there are still some good people in the world.
Jonathan King had left a Vero Beach doctor's office when he realized he'd accidentally left his wallet in the waiting room.
Inside it? $500 in cash to pay his bills.
King went back inside to see if it was still there, but had no luck.
That's where Lynne Jones came into the picture.
"I saw the wallet, so I picked it up," she said. "I counted the money and said, 'Oh, that's a whole lot of money in there.' So I said, 'Oh, look, their address is Vero,' and my son said, 'Why don't we take it by when we get back?'"
Jones said she and her kids got in the car and drove over to the address on King's driver's license.
"Did you lose something?" Jones said she asked King upon greeting him at his house. "And he just got this big smile and (said), 'Thank you so much.'"
King said he got a little emotional when he saw his wallet just hours after losing it.
"I almost broke down crying because I was just amazed about how there are actual good people in this world," he said.
King offered Jones a reward but she declined.
