The WH responded to "skeet-gate"  LMAO:

......Discover Yahoo! With Your Friends.Login. close.. ... ......White House defends Obama skeet shooting photo
.
.By Rachel Rose Hartman, Yahoo! News

(Pete Souza/White House)
The White House was still answering for "skeet-gate" Monday following a photo released late Friday of President Barack Obama shooting skeet in August 2012.

"Why did the White House decide to release the skeet shooting photos three days before this trip?" a reporter asked White House press secretary Jay Carney during Monday's briefing aboard Air Force One. The president was en route to Minnesota, where he's delivering remarks on gun violence.

Carney said the White House had received questions about the president's skeet shooting "so we decided to tweet a photo of the president shooting at Camp David."

The president had been asked by the New Republic's Franklin Foer in an interview published Jan. 27 if he'd ever fired a gun. "Yes, in fact, up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time," Obama had said.

That comment sent gun rights advocates, the press and the general public searching for evidence.

Carney was asked by the press for photographic evidence, but none initially was provided.

And Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., asked to shoot skeet with the president, but the White House did not respond.

Complicating things for the White House, the president made the skeet shooting statement while pressing Congress and the public to support gun control measures following December's shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., which made it seem, some felt, like a PR move.

And on Monday, former senior Obama adviser David Axelrod added to the criticism, saying the White House should have put an end to "Skeet Gate" sooner.

“They should have put the picture out earlier. I don’t know why they waited five days to put that out,” Axelrod said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “Because it just rekindled the whole story.”

Carney stressed Monday that the president's personal time spent with friends and family at Camp David is not publicized.

"I think he has gotten better" at skeet shooting, Carney said after failing to confirm whether the president shoots skeet or trap. He added that the president has never claimed to have grown up "a hunter."

It's freaking hysterical.  He used it as leverage, as every pother politician has in similar circumstances.  At least Paul Ryan admitted the soup kitchen deal was a photo op..in fact, he called ahead and ASKED if he could stop by "for a photo op".

It's just so funny.  This will be defended until the cows come home.   Cheesy political move....because he's a POLITICIAN!!!

Carney says..."Carney stressed Monday that the president's personal time spent with friends and family at Camp David is not publicized."

The president himself made it public info.

P.S.

The pictures of the President holding a gun are precious.  Doesn't he look all grown up now?  (Carumba.....)

The schools here are all "locked down" throughout the day.  What bothers me is the fact that they've always had the ability to do this, with cameras at the front and rear entrances and access can only be granted through the front door after school starts.... Why weren't they using it all along?

Going way back, does anyone remember "bomb raid drills" at school?  You were to duck and cover under your desk... remember those?  I'm sure everyone remembers "fire drills", no?  I wonder why they aren't doing more right now to devise "active shooter drills" or something.  Maybe they are....

Having the front doors locked is a good first step towards safety.  There has to be more done, at the schools, because that is where school shootings take place.  Drills, procedures, etc... all of that needs to be re-evaluated and taught with the severity of the fire drills.

Schools, for the most part these days have sprinkler systems, are built with products that are not flamable or flame resistant, and yet there are still the occasional fire drill.....

LOL gene, so true!

This is where I just have to laugh.  Per some people (the "worshippers")...Obama ONLY does things because he is a kind and loving person who wants the BEST for America...he NEVER politicizes anything.  The repubs are ALL evil and do EVERYTHING only for political gain.  Dems never do that...Obama never does that.

I'm sure he's a nice guy and wants to see good things for the country..but at the end of the day...he's a politician and loves a photo op as much as the next guy.  This is the second one we've seen since the CT tragedy.

"Not a very reasonable angle for shooting clay pigeons, but if the Secret Service were taking a nap and he was trying to slow down someone coming across the White House lawn, it's believable. Given the number of threats he and his family have probably received, and the number that may have come from someone named Skeeter, I'll buy he was practicing his Skeet' shooting."

Since Federal law enforcement is required to practice on full-auto and he's Commander in Chief, I can't wait to see pics of him doing his yearly recertification.

I find it funny, that people actually buy into this kind of crap. If he “participates in the sport all of the time”, we would have heard about it.  He should have said, I have shot skeet before and enjoyed it and here is a photo that proves I’ve actually shot a gun (I would still be skeptical of all of the smoke (as I said before, I have a Black Powder Muzzle Load that throws about that much smoke).

On another note, The Wonderful World of Facebook. I joined FB originally because I have Friends and Family scattered all over The U.S. and it was nice to keep in touch. Little did I know I was creating a Monster. I now average about 170 Friends. I doubt there is 170 people that actually like me let alone are my friends. But, at least now I have access to valuable information like every time my friend’s daughter in Billings, Montana goes to McDonald’s or another friend’s son in Daytona. Fl. bought a new set of tires.

I never really got into it much either but I do like to Dove Hunt. I have a friend that’s into it and he uses a Double Barrel (maybe an over/under) 12 Gauge with short brass #8 and #9 shot.

I'm not so familiar with shooting skeet and what is a standard shotgun for it but sure looks to me like Obama's shotgun appears to have a shorter 20inch barrel with a tube extender ( to hold more shells ) more like a riot gun I thought. anybody know if that is normal for skeet? plus looks like in the photo op from the link below he is shooting head high instead of in the air where skeet would normally be...( just an observation ).....
maybe he makes someone on the ground hold the skeet for him.....lol...guess we'll see if Jay Carney has both arms next briefing ....
