Our missile defence programme will be compromised if this treaty passes, the obama administration is trying to rush through at the lame duck',session of Congress what we consider to be a seriously flawed treaty that will  endanger our national security.The proposed New Start will limit our ability and right to build missile defence systems.This goes beyond any concerns about Russia .  We must continue to build a robust missile defence system to defend ourselves from countries like Iran and terrorist organizations that are  working to aquire technology to lauch missiles with nuclear weapons from cargo ships.To allow a treaty with Russia to limit this right to self defence is unacceptable .A treaty like this has never been been rushed through a lame duck congress and with good reason ..Something this  important to national security should never be orushed through nor crammed down the throats of the American people  .

I found this interesting.  It kind of runs along the same lines. I apologize, as I dont have a link handy, but its available on google.

There is a Russian mining company that owns the majority of a mining outfit mining uranium/plutonium in Wyoming.....  of course the Russians say they are on the up and up, but one would have to wonder how they even got involved with mining this stuff in the United States, wouldnt you?

The beauty of treaties like this is, it keeps the honest honest.  Thats it.  Bad guys will still continue to produce weapons.  This is akin to gun control.  Take the guns away from law abiding citizens and only the bad guys will have guns.  

Stupid and ill thought- treaties like this are.

The treaty is a bad idea.

The number of so-called platforms will be reduced and constrained. Unfortunately the same delivery systems are used for both nuclear and non-nuclear weapons. In addition, nuclear weapons do not last forever. Our last test of one of our weapons was eighteen years ago. We will be prohibited from future testing.

With the last treaty with the old Soviet Union the United States destroyed large numbers of serviceable B-52's for example. The Soviet Union did...well nothing.
