Oh, I had his age wrong---------- he was 93.
I wonder what life will be like at 93------ and when you hear of an icon in a nursing home, it makes you realize that life goes by in a flash.
thanks special mom:)
it is kinda hard to think of mike wallace in a nursing home and interesting that he remembered what is most important, yes certainly a lesson in that...
he sure seemed to be a good person and will be missed by many...
Hey lotsastuff------- welcome to the group!! Yeah-------- it does sink in that age doesn't discriminate---- it's going to happen to us all.
I read an interesting comment from his son------- it was from before his dad died. He talked about him in the home and that he was okay physically but mentally not all there. He had no recollection it seemed of 60 Minutes or his career!! The things we all think of when we think of Mike Wallace. What he kept talking about was his family and kids. His son made the comment that for so many years, his career was this blockbuster, bigger than life thing and really was number one to him but that in the end, it was completely forgotten and he only remembered his family. Might be a lesson in that???
But he was special in his field, that was for sure!!
Yes, I liked him too.
Yes it is hard to imagine Mike W in a nursing home, isn't it. Its a reminder that we are all just passing through this life and the older we get we realize how short this life is.
