Well, I dont know what to say except, sorry for the visual. I didnt even think of that. I was just talking to adgal and managed to say something stupid forgetting everyone will see it. Ok, well I really think they need a delete button this.

It's my understanding that the knees and elbows have to be seen for technical purposes.  It's been that way since lifting began.  Technically speaking, its a no-no according to the rules.

bbxx, I mean no disrespect when I say this, but I got a chuckle after reading the article and what you said about a bikini contest.  The first thought that came to mind was competing in a bikini contest wearing over-alls.... you could probably do it if it werent against the rules, but who knows where you'd place.  With that said, I do honestly respect your beliefs... just struck an image in my head that I'll not be able to shake today.  (Primarily because I see me in the overalls trying to compete in the bikini contest.  It'd hide my body hair and a few tattoos which would probably increase my chances.)

I didn't know about the knees and elbows.  If that is part of the competition, then that is as it should be.

I guess I see this differently then a private club.  If there is a private club, then members should have to meet the appropriate critera in my mind.  For example, a youth group at Church should only include Church members.  Surprisingly, I also don't agree with girls joining boys only type clubs, and vice versa.  I guess to me this is just a different issue altogether in that the competition is open to men and women (I am assuming anyway) and it's just a matter of dress.  Again, if her choice of dress somehow changes the outcome of the competition, or forces them to be judged differently then they would normally be, then that isn't right.

I think for me what I found so frustrating about this, was there has been a lot of fighting in my area over people wanting to be part of these private clubs, that they dont qualify to be in. Even the schools are having issues with this stuff. Girls want to join exclusive boys clubs, and vise versa. A woman wanted the right to join an all mens gym. They are getting their way too, and its not right. Everything is crazy.

I gotta be honest, I truly don't see the big deal in this.  If what she wanted to wear somehow effects the outcome in the competition or creates an unfair advantage, then I understand why she can't.  But if there is no real basis to the rule, then I guess I don't understand why it's an issue.  Obviously something like a bikini contest (oh come on, you do too want to enter one..lol) is a different story as the whole purpose is to see the shape your body is in (I think....lol), but this is just about how much you can lift right?  I guess I just say let people be and don't sweat the small stuff, and in all honesty this is kinda small stuff.  Sorry, just my honest opinion.

I dont think this is fair, and before anyone thinks I am saying that because I am prejudice, let me be clear, its not true. According to my faith, only my husband is to see me in anything consdered not modest in accordance to my faith. I would love to win a bikini contest, but beause of my faith I can not compete. Should I take them to court for the right to be judged in private by women judges only and to not have my photo made public?
These are not things like medical care, or education we are talking about, these are just activities for fun.
The way things are going there will be nothing left for clubs. Girl scouts and boy scouts will be unisex, all the sports have dress codes and they will be affected. Everything is out of control.
