How can I make distilled water without a destiller

I was wondering if I have been doing this correctly. I use distilled water for my cpap machine, making homemade soaps and in some of my cooking but it can be expensive to use while on a budget. So I heard if I boil the water for 10 minutes straight let cool and repeat then it's distilled, is this true?
