You haven't said why you're taking the enzyme, nor which brand you're taking, nor why you have to take it every single time you eat. Usually they're taken as needed unless you have a particular medical condition you haven't mentioned. With more info you might get more responses.
You must use a good digestive enzyme supplement with each and every meal you eat! If it's 1 or 5 meals per day!!
Try this test to see if your enzyme is a good formula and that will actually let you see the benefit of enzyme supplementation in just a few minutes.
Make two bowls of instant oatmeal.
Crush (mix) a couple of digestive enzyme capsules into just one of the bowls of oatmeal.
Wait 45 minutes.
Now check. If the formula you are using is any good, there should be a big difference in the two bowls. The untreated bowl should be lumpy, stick to your ribs consistency. The bowl with the enzymes will look different. It will be “digested” and have the consistency of watery gruel. Which oatmeal would you rather have work through your body: the one that's stuck to the bowl like cement, or the enzyme bowl that's predigested? Which oatmeal do you think is less stressful to digest?
It says at each meal. But I eat 5 small meals a day. I don't want to overdose.
What does the directions state on your enzymes? I suggest asking your doctor and or pharmacist. If the directions state at each meal then I would do as it states.
