Download the apps Fooducate or Shopwell. You can set up your preferences and scan food in using a bar code scanner. It will tell you how healthy it is and give you alternatives.
As for recipes and health eating just try adapting the foods you already eat by using healthier ingredients. (Ex. Ground turkey instead of ground beef, whole grain pasta instead of white pastas, high protein cereals over high sugar cereals)
Small adjustments add up to big changes.
I hope this helps.
Vegetables and whole fruits are most important. Eat lean meats. Consider ground meats since you are trying to get as much nutrition as possible. I would dice the vegetables too and chew everything. Spinach and other greens are excellent. Make your plate look like a rainbow of colors and you know you are getting a wide variety of nutrients. Make friends with somebody who is into nutrition and you can learn from him or her.
