Vitamin D Deficiency

Hello all! I have not been feeling well for the past year or so and over the past few months I seem to be getting worse/exacerbated symptoms. My symptoms are as listed below:

Severe anxiety/slightly agoraphobic
Sad mood/fearful thoughts
Burning ear (especially if I sleep on it at night) - then wake up to excess earwax/fluid
Muscle aches and weakness
Irritability
Hair starting to thin (always had very thick hair)
Brittle nails (my nails were always thick and grew fast)
Fatigue - I sleep 8 hours a night and still wake up weak, sleepy and drained
I have NO energy ever!
Constipation (BM about 3-4 times a week if I'm lucky)
Symptoms are worse before & during period
Immense pressure on face, sinuses and head
Pain in neck
Pain in jaw (was diagnosed with TMJ last year)
Dizziness/Vertigo
Always feel 'out of it'
When I lift I get a weak feeling in my lower back and it radiates 'tingles' down my legs
I feel like my eye muscles are weak and they feel very heavy
Feeling like my brain cannot 'absorb' or make sense of things
Whole body aches - joints click/pain/weakness
Sometimes it feels like I cannot hold myself up
Symptoms feel a bit better if sitting or laying down, always worse when walking or standing too long

I have had multiple blood tests that have come back negative, tested for thyroid diseases, autoimmune, arthritis etc. I went to 2 ENT doctors and was 'fine'. Had a thyroid scan and I had a nodule/goiter but it was 'fine'. The only 'red flag' was my Vitamin D. I had blood taken in October 2013 and my Vit D was at 35, I had it taken again last weekend and it returned at 26. Also, not sure if it's relevant but my Ferritin level was 19. From October to Present I feel my symptoms have gotten worse. Could this all be from Vitamin D deficiency? I also wanted to state information that may be of use: I am a 28 year old female, since March 2013 I have cut out eating anything dairy, gluten and soy. I do not take any multivitamins presently (I am starting them again tomorrow) and just started taking Vitamin D 2000 IU on Saturday.

Again, I ask, can all these symptoms be from low vitamin D?

Sorry, I did type more reference ranges for my local lab in Canada in my previous post, but they did not appear so here they are: <12 iron deficient, 12 - 30 depleted iron stores, 80 - 300 normal iron stores.

You stated, "Also, not sure if it's relevant but my Ferritin level was 19."

On December 9, 2014 my Ferretin (iron) level was 39. The reference range for reduced iron stores at my local lab is 31 – 79 ug/L. Here are the other reference ranges at my local lab 300 likely iron overload. I live in Canada.

Unfortunately I went from exercising daily to not at all :-\ With so much on my plate and in my spare time I worry so much of what has to get done I trigger a panic attack and then im done for the rest of the night. I have to get back into my groove of working out. Thank you so much for sharing your story and helping! :-)

I went on a 30 day detox last October-November. Didn't help much with my symptoms. On average I drink 68-80oz of water a day and I never consume anything else....no juice, soda, coffee etc. Thank you for your suggestions :-)

I too attended for many blood tests, scans convinced there was something wrong with me and they all came back normal. One of the worst things I done was oversleep, burying my head under the duvet, if you are doing this make an effort not too, it's seriously not Good for your mental wellbeing.

Do you exercise much? Most of your symptoms sound familiar to me when I had anxiety, social anxiety and depression. If this is the case I had medications, herbal remedies, and counselling over many years. I was constantly diagnosing every twinge I had which heightened my anxiety/depression. The only thing that helped me was to push through the front door and start walking, then jogging and running. I'm more fit/healthy and my anxiety level is now 0.  I too was verging on agoraphobia which made it harder to get out there but it worked. If you genuinely have an illness I'm sure your doctor will pick up on it. Best of luck to you... <3

Maybe you can try detoxification and then increase water intake and b-complex and vitamin C added to your diet and get more sleep. I have similar symptoms as you do and I have been diagnosed with ADS and the regimen helped me recover although sometimes it comes back whe  I am not disciplined. ..

I am trying to find a doctor in my area that will test all my levels, most are very dismissive and like to push antidepressants! Thank you for your help and suggestions! :-) I always buy my vitamins, supplements and food from a local health food store.

Yes, your symptoms can be because your low on Vitamin D? Did they check your vitamin B levels also? What about potassium?
I know you're starting vitamins but try your best to find a really good one. Many of the ones you can buy at Walmart or even your local drug store are'nt that good.
If you have a health food store near you buy from them. Many times their vitamins are better.
