affect of multivitamin tablets on a blood test?

Hi there,

I am experiencing some muscle weakness and shakiness and my GP has requested a load of blood tests for me which I will get tomorrow, some of them are to test levels of a lot of minerals/vitamins in my blood and I wondered if the fact I take a daily multivitamin will affect the blood tests? Should I tell them or will the test be fairly pointless?

Thanks to anyone who can help

Clare :)

They should not affect the test, in fact, it is good that you are taking them, the blood test will show if you are assimilating what you take. You can tell the tech if you want, but, as I said, it should be fine.
