am i eating the right foods

Recently, I have been tring to live a healthier lifestyle, I weighed 155lbs, now I'm at 130, yay! I've gone on many diets and failed miserably. This time, I've been eating mostly fruit, veggies, cereal, chicken, yogurt, and for snacks I eat fiber plus bars, or glazed walnuts, glazed because I have a bit of a sweet tooth. Now, I know all this stuff is good for me, but I was wondering if I'm missing anything I should be eating.

Forgot to say that high omega 3 fish, (salmon, tuna, mackerel) are good for mental health, skin & vitamin d/ calcium intake so if you are not a big fish eater, it's worth supplementing with capsules.

Canned salmon is just as good because you get the crunched bones which are high in calcium.

hey there. thanks for the advise, I only eat red meat onne in a while, and kidney beans, well only if I'm having chili, but I do get 90% iron from my cereal in the morning and I take a multi-vitamin, and I usually have spinach once or twice a day so I think I'm covered there, not 100% sure but I think so. As for the fiber bars, theres 7g of sugar and no high fructose corn syrup so I think they are ok too, plus 9g of fiber and rich in antioxidants vitamin E and zinc. I only drink alcohol probobly 3 or 4 times a year so I'm all good there  too. Thank you for advise, I reallly appreiciate all the help I can get!

Sounds pretty good Carrie, it's important not to be too rigid because it's unlikely that you will maintain the diet for most of the time which is all you need to do.

My only suggestions are:-

If you don't do red meat or eat serious amounts of kidney beans, lentils & other pulses, you may need supplementary iron.

Just check the sugar content of your bars, even with fibre they sometimes sneak in a lot of sugar to make them palatable

Low fat dairy foods are important for calcium & have also been associated with weight loss.

Don't know if you are a drinker but alcohol can also be a big source of empty calories.

Well done you.
