strange cravings
ok, for the past 3 or 4 months i have had strange cravings where i crave cleaners. mr. clean, clorox cleaner, bleach, windex... you name it... i probably crave it... i only crave it when i smell them. i have the urge to drink them... thank God i have enough sense not to. however, i would love to know what is causing this because my iron is fine... i am not anemic... or whatever... and i am definitely not pregnant. what kind of deficiency could this be?
I am an RN and my guess would be that you have a vitamin or mineral deficiency (possibly iron). You could try taking a suppliment as well as adding foods that are rich in iron to your diet. If that doesn't work, then I would recommend a visit to your physician.
I really do not know what would cause this type of craving unless it would be lack of certain minerals. You might want to try a good, food grade multi-mineral supplement, this might help to alleviate those desires.
