I'm drinking 2-3 2 L of diet pepsi/day. How to stop?

I'm obsessed with drinking fluids bease I'm so concerned about wt. gain and anxiety. It makes no sense but it's always been my coping mechanism for anxiety.

I don't really think this is obsessive compulsive disorder.  :>)  But I do understand the desire for soda.  I had this with Dr. Pepper.  Loved my pepper.  Here's what I did.  I just stopped cold turkey.  Whew, it was hard and I was kind of in mourning over it as I really did love the stuff.  How it tasted, how it made me feel (the caffeine).  I did have about once a day when I quit substitute things that still were flavorful such as a glass of orange juice (which has a ton of sugar in it) or ice tea.  But mostly, I just started drinking water.  Oh, at first I was not a fan. I was like 'this is BORING'.  But I swear . . . after awhile, that water got better and now is what I want when thirsty.  NEVER would I have imagined!

You feel like poop when you first give up the pop. You may get headaches from caffeine withdrawal and you may just feel spent with no energy.  This can last a couple of weeks.  But once it is gone, I swear again that you will feel better overall.  You will NOT have highs and lows in your day like you have now where you drink the pepsi,  feel good (or peppy pepsi) and then you plummet and want another.

You can do it.  And caffeine is like an addiction like any other.  stay busy, have substitute thought patterns, and be kind to yourself. good luck
