Yes, it is in saliva but like the article said, in very low quantities. I think if a person were to be infected via saliva in the eye, it would have to be someone actually spitting directly into their face from upclose. What I tell all the HIV anxiety people is if this is going to just drive you nuts what'iffing the whole thing, then get tested. It can't hurt in our case either and when you get that negative result you can move on with your life. Since I'm not a doctor, maybe you should make an appointment with your GP and discuss this and see what he/she thinks. Statistically, your chances are pretty much zero.
thank you I red this article but I red in a diferrent article that has been written in it HBV detect in saliva of carrier Hepatit B and if saliva splash in to the eye can transmite HBv
and this is the cause of my fear but I am not sure saliva splash in my eye I felt when a droplet solash in my eye .
This is what I found on the internet:
"Saliva of people with hepatitis B can contain the hepatitis B virus, but in very low concentrations compared with blood. Injections of infected saliva can transmit the virus, so bite injuries can also spread the disease. There are no reports of people getting hepatitis B from mouth contact with infected CPR manikins or mouthpieces of musical instruments."
So even if you put your mouth directly on something a person carrying Hep B did, you won't get it. This person would have to physically have bitten you for you to even remotely have a chance of becoming infected. I would say that you have absolutely no chance of being infected. You don't have to worry about your yourself or your family.
If you need anything else, post again.
