Please help

I have body dismorphic disorder. My GP has no idea what this is. I am on a 2 year waiting list for the mental health team as I have been diagnosed with depression and OCD. 2 years is too long. I can't seem to find anywhere in Edinburgh that specialises in helping BDD sufferers. And I am REALLY SUFFERING. I can't live like this any longer. If there is anyone out there with info on help in Edinburgh please let me know.
Thank you.

What I can suggest is that you look for support groups online until you can find someone to see in person. I know it may not fix things completely, but just having someone to talk to while you are waiting to see a professional could help.

There are many people on here, including me, who are more than happy to help you and who are willing to listen anytime you want to vent.

I suffer from BDD and i can just imagine how much you're sufferring.. especially knowing theirs no treatment of where you live.. if i could; i'd fly you down to boston and let you get treatment at Mass General with me.. because theirs treatment down here.. and if you can't find treatment where you live.. you need to make some sacrifces and find a place.. you'll make it <3
