OCD about HIV

Hello, im having some extreme anxiety and obsessive thoughts about hiv its ruining my life. I have not been able to find answers for my questions anywhere maybe someone here can help?  Im trying to find out if its possible for someone that is infected with HIV and have a small viral load and not produce enough antibodies , and therefore not be able to show up on a rapid HIV test. Also is it possible for someone to not produce antibodies at all and what would happen in that case?  These are very legitimate questions i have had several possible exposures and im terrified. please help thank you.

Hello,

I think what you are asking is this, can someone have HIV and it not show on a test. This leads me to believe that you have had tests, that have come back negative, and yet you are doubting them.

What are the several possible exposures? Sometimes we who have OCD preceive something as possible while in reality it is not. On the flip side you really could have had an exposure, which is why I am asking.

Hey

Your best bet is to ask a Dr as that is the person who can give u the answer - the HIV Prevention Expert forum here on Medhelp is great, you just have to pay 15 dollars for a question.
Otherwise see your own Dr I guess!

Also this may be showing up OCD in general rather than just an isolated fear, you probably should get help with that!

Any idea what u'll do?
