daughter afraid she's wet her pants

I;m just not sure where this question falls. My daughter, age 23, has OCD.  She has a recurrent fear that she "wet" herself - and is constantly asking me how I would know if I did, and "what if its just a drop or a few drops?"  there is no real logical answer to this; no matter what i say she still believes she did and then has to take another shower to wash it off.  Or, if by some miracle i can get her to believe she didn't do it, it is just her anxiety or fear of doing it, she wears heavy duty pads just in case it happens.  Is there anything I can say to her to convince her otherwise?

I really feel for you.  I mean how can you watch a loved one go thru something like this with out feeling totally helpless.  Does this affect her eating habits then, so she tries to control how much waste shes going to make ? How old is your daughter ? and when did this start ? Was there an event that lead up to this that brought fear front and center for her to worry and obsess about it?  I may have a few suggestions depending on her age.  I'll wait to hear from you.

I've had ocd for years and finally a doctor put me on 2 different meds that made it cease. But I watch others in my family still battle with it. elaine

My daughter has a fear of poop being inside her body.  She spends most of her waking hours in the bathroom.  She constantly asks how do i know when it is all out.  I try to reason with her but that only makes it worse.  I can tell she is getting worse and more depressed as each day passes.  She is on meds and we go to her dr every 3 weeks.  Even put her in hospital for 3 weeks.  Nothing is helping and I am slowly going out of my mind

i feel for your daughter..ive had ocd for as long as i can remember.  And what always helped me was the frequent reassurance from my parents.  The relief was momentary, but overall helped so much.  Over time it may subside cause ocd can be cyclic...not always constant.  is she on meds??
