exposure or not

some days ago i went in a pathlab for routine blood cheque up.every thing went smoothly.when i was returnig from the lab i saw a tiny drop of blood on my other hand opposite side of palm.idid not pay much attention to it at that time  because i didnot feel any pricking or pain and i wipe it from my hand and return home.now i m a little worried .what if i m accidently pricked by another syringe that is used to draw blood from another patient and he or she could be hiv positive. is it possible having pricked without feeling any pain .i also think that there should be some mark also but i didnot notice anyone may i missed it.there was only a little drop of blood on my hand.in india most of labs use dispo syringes instead of vacutainers. i m a little worried and ur kind advice can calm my anxiety.thanks a lot in advance

No thnaks. I too suffer from the same fear and am coping with it day by day. It started in february and i am gradually getting better. Its a mental illness not a hiv infection. I come here to learn a more about ocd instead of hiv. Because ocd is my problem just like yours with the what ifs and scenarios we make up. You should also check body.com it has a lot of information about transmission. If you learn it then it wont be that scary. Its good to be cautious but overcautious cab be harmfull to yourself. Anyway its a good thing you posted in thus forum. You are acknowledging that it is ur mind instead of hiv that is your problem.

Its not possible to be pricked and not notice it. You arr just like me affraid of getting hiv so your mind is tellibg you that it is blood from someone else that is hiv +. And that you got pricked and that there was blood inserted in you right. Well the chances of that happening are zero. Because youre not sure if it was someone elses blood or yours and most people dobt have hiv. Plus youre not sure u got pricked as you didnt even have a mark. And on top of that if it was hiv blood  it would have died immediately when it is exposed to air. Your brain is just making things up. Hiv is not your problem but your brain is.
