got diagnosed with OCD

hello, i was diagnosed with ocd. ive been on zoloft for 5 months on-going. it's nice and helpful.

i used to have intrusive sexual/aggressive/religious agressive thoughts. now i have shifted from these to having random songs stuck in my head and it's been horrible for my sleeping. i have only had about 4 hours of sleep for the past two days because of this. ive been reading books, and stuff but its stuck. i wake up in the morning. and the song goes back on loop

what do i do? i know how to get over the thoughts, but songs?? help much appreciated. :)

If it were me personally, I'd get a second opinion on taking Seroquel. I would never take it even though I have OCD as well. Seroquel can cause long term neurological damage such as tardive dyskinesia. That to me would far outweigh any short term benefit. I think there are safer alternatives for sleep troubles and cognitive behavioral therapy can help you get your obsessions under control.

well, i do have mood swings... im not sure it's bi-polar though. i use the seroquel for the ruminations because i ruminate on the thoughts. and i need it for sleep at night.

Were you diagnosed with anything else in addition to OCD? I know sometimes anti-psychotics are prescribed to OCD sufferers but I thought Seroquel was for Bi-Polar?
