Don't worry...it is OCD and yes the doubt is part of the mind game we play on ourselves.  Like I said, find a doctor that can teach you cognitive behavioral therapy because you may be able to live your life without meds by using these techniques.  But if you find that it isn't enough, the medications available are many.  They typically prescribe an SSRI which is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor.  Research has shown that there isn't enough serotonin in our brains and so that is why we think irrational thoughts.  There other type of drug is called an SNRI which acts on two neurotransmitters, serotonin and norepinephrine.  The med I take is a SNRI and it is called Wellbutrin.  What you have to remember is that not every drug works for every person and so you try one and you see if it works for you and if there are any side effects and if so, can you live with them.  Also, it takes a good 4 weeks to see if something is working so you need to give it at least that long before you throw in the towel on it.  Also, since there are side effects you should look at each medication's side effects and decide where to start.  From my own personal experience, SSRIs have an effect on my sex drive, i.e., lowering it, so I went for the SNRI this go around and it has absolutely no effect on my sex drive so that is the medication for me.  Just something to think about.

I just know all of it not true but my brain tells me other wise. I'm gonna call them Monday I wanna battle this and beat it. And not have it come back in a different form. I just worry what if its not OCD. But that might be normal. What's the best meds for this?

You go in and you say "I think I have OCD and here is what has been going on in my life and in my head" and you get it all out.  That first session is going to be you talking and the doc listening.  Then you go from there.  These thoughts, I know how overwhelming they can be and yes sometimes one you think you have gotten a handle on comes back to rear its ugly head and you are left wondering WTH.  That is why you need to get the ball rolling on the CBT and/or meds.  There really is, in my opinion, no reason for somebody to live this constant battle day in and day out.  I did it myself for years and honestly, at this point, I won't EVER be going off of meds again.

Hi there...You have no doubt developed some coping strategies that seem to work somewhat otherwise you would have gone completely bonkers by now.

The first thing you should do is see a psychologist.  They can formally diagnose you and together you can come up with a treatment plan.  That may include CBT alone or CBT with medication and for medication you would obviously need to see a psychiatrist as well.  Psychiatrists usually don't teach CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) so that is why I suggest you start there first.

My own personal opinion is that you can't just throw meds at it and think you are going to be fine.  You do need to learn the CBT because trust me you will be falling back on it from time to time.  Even though I'm on meds and 99% of the time I'm fine, I still have that 1% where I will have a panic attack and I need to use my CBT to either stop it from happening or stop it after it has started.

So find a good psychologist in your area that specialized in OCD and teaches CBT and go from there.

Take care.

Hi Dity, you dont have any disease so stop worrying. People are good and are not walking around with all kinds of diseases transmitting on contact. People save our lives in accidents, doctor heal our illness, dentists fix our teeth and many people give us advise on how to feel better.
I just want to throw this by you.
We all have  time to live our lives and can make good use of it. If you take this time that you are worrying and put it into your creative side, you can become wealthy but spiritually and financially.
If you took this time and sat down and thought real hard, you could come up with a very simple product, like those seem on tv for $19.95, have it Patented and then really get a good thing going.
