Confused about this OCD stuff

I have been researching OCD after reading a book where a girl had thoughts about killing, embarrassing or harming loved ones mentally and physically . I had some of the same thoughts ,and other embarrassing ones that I will not mention. After hearing she was diagnosed with OCD I became strongly worried. I don't like to tell my parents very much, though I should tell them more, but I really want help. I don't feel like they will take it right and the tearapist would tell them my thoughts, I don't feel comfortable with that. Since I am only eleven , but seem thirteen in size , and am going through puberty like one I don't know If that is the reason or if this is serious. I have a normal social life and am the class clown aside from my crush ,a guy, I am female by the way. I really need help the thoughts just pop up and are getting worse and worse. If you have any suggestions pleeeaaasee help me.

Guess it is not going to work.  So you can search for articles with the following names for your parents to read.

Parenting a Child with OCD
Helping a Child Who Has OCD
For Families with Children who have OCD
OCD and the Family:  A Guide for Parents

There are a lot of articles out there.

I'm sorry but honestly, if my child was suffering and they didn't tell me, I would feel horrible.  I am sure your parents feel the same about you.  I'm not diagnosing you but it sounds like you do need to talk to a professional, get it all out there, and let them make the diagnosis.  What you cannot do, once you do see someone, is hold back.  Just remember this, you cannot surprise a therapist.  They have heard it all before and then some and trust me I went in there with some really bizarre thoughts and they didn't even blink.

There are some very good website out there for parents of kids with OCD (again I'm not diagnosing you) but you may want to show them the list.

Hi there.  While I know you don't want to talk to your parents about this, you really need to.  The reason I say this is because it is very difficult to get over this type of thinking without professional help.  You need to see a child psychologist that teaches cognitive behavioral therapy.  The sooner the better because as you get older and more stressors happen in your life, OCD can get a bit rough.  It is good to have the tools under your belt to help yourself.
